Rio Actor Pedro Cardoso, 59, took to Instagram to share his thoughts on the ‘Área de Serviço’ series he created with his wife Graziella Moreto, 50. The artist said producers at WarnerMedia “murdered” the work he was developing for HBO Max.

“Good evening. I will read a text. Sorry, it’s a bit boring topic. I use this antisocial network as a public notary service area series. Here to bury a creation of mine and Graziella who was murdered as a newborn by Dueto Produções and Warner Meadia. I said that Graziella and I had the lead in the series stolen by Dueto Connivance of the WarnerMedia administrators I can imagine there will be people who will say that this is not true, that this is all a farce, whose purpose was for me to direct the series in order to enjoy the power I adore so much. As if I wasn’t much more than the director of the series. I am the creator of the series. I wouldn’t need to be the director to have power over what I’ve created,” he began.

The actor accused Dueto Produções partner and series coproducer Monique Gardenberg of excluding him from the project and taking the position of general director after secret negotiations with WarnerMedia. “It is a crime that this project was destroyed. A crime against Graziella and against me, but also a crime against the public interest,” said Pedro Cardoso, who also said he will probably retire early.

Monique Gardenberg stated that she would not comment publicly and that Pedro Cardoso “will have an opportunity to uncover his allegations” in court.

HBO Max said the company does not comment on internal matters. “HBO Max informs that all productions and partnerships with Brazilian production companies will be carried out in mutual agreement with all parties involved, respecting and complying with legal requirements. We value and maintain trusting relationships with our talent, creators and collaborators, as well as compliance with legal requirements between everyone involved in our productions. It is worth noting that the company does not comment on the internal affairs of its employees and talent,” he said in a statement to Uol.

Pedro Cardoso hasn’t been on TV for eight years, since 2014 when the series “A Grande Família” ended on TV Globo. The actor played the character Agostinho Carrara for more than 13 years. He also worked for Globo for 26 years. After leaving the station, the actor even criticized his old homeland.

In 2016, in an interview with Programa do Gugu, Pedro Cardoso said he was saddened by the dismissal. “I was very sad. I deserved to have my own project. They made a bad business assessment, they should have looked at me, observed and analyzed the result of my work over so many years, if I would be able to respectively.” a project,” he said.
