Patrick Groulx reveals why he’s selling his gorgeous home – Showbizz.net

We learned last week that Patrick Groulx has put his huge and handsome home in Saint-Colomban in the Laurentians up for sale. See photos of the magnificent residence for which the sum of US$1,190,000 has been applied for.

In order to fulfill an old dream, the comedian had to make the decision to move. Patrick Groulx actually had the ambition to buy his own land and in the Mont-Laurier and Hautes-Laurentides region he built his new little paradise.

“In order to be able to do that and build something there, I wanted to sell my house. This is a big project that will take several years. We are in the midst of a major life change. I can’t even believe I have this, in life! I feel super privileged,” the man – who has been with his girlfriend Kathleen for six years and is the father of two teenagers, a 16-year-old girl Raphaëlle and a 14-year-old boy – told Showbizz.net. , Alexis.

Patrick Groulx wants to “indulge in everything you can do on land” on his new playground.

“Fishing, snowmobiling, motorcycling, walking in the woods, snowshoeing, logging… Me, I’m a lumberjack and I’ve dreamed of it for a long time. We’ve gone with the kids several times,” he listed.

However, the decision to settle down in a new home, in another city, was not easy for Patrick and his family.

“It was a family decision. We talked about it a lot because it was a big “move”. We lived in our house for 16 years, my children were born there, they grew up in this house. It wasn’t an obvious choice, but we don’t regret it at all. »

Professionally, Patrick Groulx has voluntarily slowed down over the past four months. He is currently working on developing concepts, one of which is about to be realised. Until then, the second season of his comedy series In my head: the return will arrive on the VRAI platform on February 7th.

Then, as the tour of his fourth one-man show Groulx, which began in early 2019, ended in December 2021, he has no plans for another show in the short or medium term. “I’ve decided to give myself a little ‘break’ and think about what I want to do in the next few years, because my head is full of ideas and projects,” said the man, who said he found it difficult to set performance dates to be constantly postponed in the tumult of the pandemic.

We caught up with Patrick Groulx earlier this week at the media premiere of Maude Landry’s L’involution (read our review here and see our red carpet photos here). The artist is a true admirer of Maude, whom he previously included in his 2017 touring project Patrick Groulx et ses p’tits pas fins. Back then, Groulx took comedians under his wing, namely Maude Landry, Sam Breton, Guillaume Pineault and Matthieu Pepper.

“I immediately found Maude exceptional. She had her own style, her special style, and she’s evolved so much over the years! said Patrick, who says he is very proud when he sees young colleagues take the important step of a first show.

“I am very happy for them and proud of their journey. If we know one thing, putting on a show isn’t easy! »

Patrick Groulx made a kind gesture for a friend who was going through extremely difficult times during the holiday season. We told you about it here. Several netizens also believed in recent days that he could replace Patrice Bélanger at the helm of Sucré Salé, but the position was eventually given to someone else. Find out who here.
