Passengers get tired of waiting and walk through the airport

Airports around the world have traffic rules that ensure the integrity of people passengers and employees and machines. There are markings on the floor showing where everyone can walk or move and where not. However, a scene caused a stir on Sunday when passengers were filmed walking freely through the airport compound in New Delhi, India, in flagrant defiance of this rule.

Pictured is the moment when a significant number of passengers disembarked from a SpiceJet flight from Hyderabad on Saturday night, 6th, walked freely in the airport courtyard after the airline could not provide a bus for about 45 minutes, to bring them to the terminal.

As a result, the local aviation authority, the DirectorateGeneral for Civil Aviation (DGCA), is investigating the incident, sources told PTI News on Sunday. Case pictures are below. In the post, Twitter user @nlasya asks, “How often does this happen to you at T3?

How often do you see this at T3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi? @flyspicejet Kept cooked through for 45 minutes after an ‘early arrival’ of 6 minutes was announced at 2324 on SG 8108 HydDelhi. They parked the flight really far away with no buses. pic.twitter.com/sgkR9gXs3Y

what the company said

SpiceJet told Indian media that there was a brief delay in the arrival of the buses and that all passengers, including those who had started on foot, rejoined them from the runway to the terminal as soon as they arrived.

“Despite repeated requests from our staff, some passengers headed towards the terminal. They had barely walked a few yards when the buses arrived.

The remote position where the plane stopped was far from the terminal, and from there passengers are not allowed to walk for safety reasons. On the ground there is a marked path for vehicles only, so airlines use buses to transfer passengers from the terminal to the aircraft or vice versa using the marked path.

Over the past few days, SpiceJet has had a number of issues with the regulator. Distrustful of the company’s safety practices, the DirectorateGeneral for Civil Aviation (DGCA) ordered the company’s operations to be halved. The measure is in place while a number of incidents involving the company’s aircraft are being investigated.
