The authorities intervened around 1.30pm on Sunday at the second address, not far from the intersection between Avenue Querbes and Rue de Liège Ouest, after receiving a call from line 9-1-1.

There they found the man first injured with a knife on the upper body. He was conscious and was immediately taken to the hospital. His life is out of danger.

A 26-year-old woman was later arrested at the scene.

“Additional information during the event led to the inspection of a second nearby apartment where the lifeless body of a woman in her 60s was discovered,” Montreal City Police Department (SPVM) spokeswoman Véronique Dubuc said Sunday evening.

It is not yet known whether the 60-year-old’s body was injured, as the SPVM investigators only arrived on site in the late afternoon. A security perimeter has been set up around the site.

The apartment block’s owner, Guglielmo Pecorilli, who arrived on Sunday evening, had few details about what had happened. According to him, the victim lived with his daughters.

“I called four of my tenants and they don’t know any better. They found someone dead, that’s all they know, he said. It’s really a big drama. »
