32 years have passed since the premiere of the original version of Pantanal on TV Manchete, and many are wondering: where are the actors who starred in the 1990 soap opera? With this in mind, Gshow went even further, investigating the whereabouts of the actors who played Juma Marruá, Jove and José Leôncio in their early years, still in the first phase of the storyline.

Each of them has a completely different story! Come and see:

When I was just 7 years old Shirley Canoletti was summoned to act in the Pantanal. She has seven sisters, all of whom have worked in television and it’s from that lineage that she was invited to star as little Juma on the soap opera. Outside of her artistic life, Shirley is currently a civil engineer, mother of two children one aged 9 and the other aged 7 and residing in Teresina, Piauí.

Although she has not pursued the art further, she has several memories from that time as an actress. “I remember one of the sequences with Cássia Kis (who played Maria Marruá) where we went on the boat and it lasted most of the day. ),” Shirley recalls.

She prefers not to comment on the current version. “I rarely watch TV because of the rush, so I prefer movies and series. I haven’t seen a single day of the soap opera, but I see people talking a lot, I know the success is great,” he adds.

Renan Cabizuca gave life to Jupiter in its early years. In real life I was 4 years old. On August 15 he will be 37 years old with a very different life: he is a father of two children (one aged 5 and the other aged 2) and works in building maintenance as an industrial climber.

“My routine in life is working with rope access. I have an IRATA N3 mountaineering course and I have a building maintenance company that uses rope access and I also work for a company where I am a height rescue leader,” explains Renan. “I also work on board in the oil basins and in the maintenance of ships in the oil sector.”

He says that he gradually gave up his artistic career but even visited Tablado in Rio de Janeiro. As Jove, he points out that the original was different. “Now it has better picture and sound quality, but I find the first one more impressive. Jove’s participation is now also very good,” he praises.

Even before he brought to life José Leôncio in the youth version, Paulo Ribeiro had started to devote himself to another passion: martial arts. At the age of 9 he devoted himself to judo. Joining the cast of Pantanal three years later, and on a hiatus in his artistic career, Paulo was a black belt in karate by the age of 16. Shortly thereafter he became champion in the South American Tournament of Sports.

Currently, Paulo continues to devote himself to his artistic career and is the father of two daughters, one aged 17 and the other aged 11. “After committing to the sport, I returned to my career and brought together a group of film professionals and we began producing short films. Short films that ended up winning awards, and the last one gave me the award for best actor at a festival in Los Angeles, now in early 2022: Global Film Festival Awards,” he says. This week Paulo even won best actor at a festival in Ohio nominated in the United States.

About the life of José Leôncio in his early years, the actor believes that the character really was in the past. “It’s a nice reminder of a job that if I were doing it today, I would do it very differently,” he guarantees.
