Panama hosts international trade, logistics and tourism fairs

According to the organizing committee, more than 600 companies from 30 nations will attend the three-day event to strengthen their businesses and encourage investment.

Isthmus Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (Cciap) President Marcela Galindo told Prensa Latina that the forum will contribute to the sustainability of economic development, job creation and the consolidation of the Channel country as a regional and global hub.

Galindo noted that this gathering of high-level companies and institutions, through conferences and seminars, aims to explore and open up new avenues of collaboration from which participating nations share strategic visions of progress.

For his part, the head of the Cciap Committee on Exhibitions and Events, Jean-Pierre Leignadier, pointed out that in terms of trade and articles such as food, textiles, agricultural products, medical equipment and consumables, beverages and technologies, the countries have confirmed five continents.

In the 39th edition of the so-called World Trade Showcase, as Expocomer is known, China resumes its participation with the largest pavilion, followed by Türkiye, El Salvador, Guatemala, Colombia, the United States, Costa Rica, Argentina and Ecuador, among other countries .

In addition, he highlighted the presence of missions from Argentina, Barbados, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, South Korea, Cuba, Spain, France, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey and Venezuela.

This first day of the fair, after the official opening by the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo, will be dedicated to the celebration of the national holidays of the participating countries with the opening of their respective pavilions.

The XV edition of the Expologística, it was known, will focus on maritime services, shipping companies, freight agents, ports, customs and technologies, among others.

While the tourism exhibition will deal with incentives such as congresses, adventure and multi-destination products, for which it will have the support of specialized companies such as airlines, cruise lines, travel agencies and ministries in this field.

Parallel events such as the presentation of the National Award for Business Innovation 2022, the International Congress of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, a workshop on health and the specialist congress “Impact of Technology on Logistics Operations” are also worth mentioning.

For this year 2023, the three shows are expected to surpass last year’s results with transactions exceeding $127 million and the influx of more than 15,000 visitors.
