The former prime minister was ousted from power nine months ago, by a motion of censure. He accuses a US conspiracy. His party has held numerous political rallies across the country to call for early elections.

Imran Khan says he wants to restructure the country’s economy in full crisis: According to the IMF, Pakistan has an external debt of 138 billion dollars. The rupee has plummeted, growth has slowed, inflation is at 20% and dollar reserves have dried up. The country that lived a few months ago terrible floods which left 1,700 dead, is on the verge of insolvency. A worrying situation that is only exacerbated by the political crisis.
