Lucy Mecklenburgh claims she was denied an ambulance when her children required emergency care

Lucy Mecklenburgh has claimed she was denied an ambulance on a number of occasions when her young children had to go to A&E.

The former TOWIE star, 31, took to her Instagram Story on Monday to reveal she was once even forced to wait 20 minutes before speaking to a 999 handler.

Her son Roman, two, who she shares with fiancé Ryan Thomas, 38, has been hospitalized multiple times with viruses and fluid in her lungs, while her daughter Lilah, four months, recently required medical attention for bronchiolitis.

“I waited over 20 minutes for my 999 call to even be answered!” Lucy Mecklenburgh has claimed that her ambulances were denied when her young children required emergency care (pictured in July 2022).

Following a Good Morning Britain report of longer wait times for ambulances, Lucy wrote on the social media platform: “Unfortunately I have had to call ambulances for my children many times.

“On one occasion I waited over 20 minutes for my 999 call to even be answered and was also told there were no ambulances available. Can you please drive your baby to the hospital, which is impossible with a small child struggling to breathe?

‘Enough is enough!!!!!!! Something must be done! That breaks my heart.’

She later added: “I’ve received a lot of sad news from stories [sic] waiting for ambulance.

Oh dear: Her son Roman, two, who she shares with fiancé Ryan Thomas, 38, has been hospitalized multiple times with viruses and fluid in his lungs

“I think we are all aware that the NHS is very overburdened, understaffed and underfunded at the moment and it must be awful to be the person to say to a parent/indigent that this is the case [sic] no ambulance available.

“A lot of people have written to me that a big problem is people calling 999 unnecessarily. Instead of dialing 111, dialing your family doctor or driving to the emergency doctor yourself (if possible).

‘Thank you for all your kind messages. Finally I would like to thank all the lovely hard working NHS staff who have helped my baby over the past 2 years.

“Now I’m getting out of here enjoying Halloween with my kids Xx.”

Lucy and Ryan’s son Roman was hospitalized earlier this month during a family break in Carlisle.

Actor Ryan shared a photo of his toddler in an A&E crib, telling his Instagram followers that they “sadly have been in this situation many times.”

Last month Lucy was in hospital with the couple’s eldest child as he battled a virus.

The Coronation Street star shared a black and white photo of Roman resting in his hospital bed on Sunday night and wrote: “My little man and I have sadly been in this situation many times.

“But this weekend we spent 24 hours in hospital, far from home – but we wanted to say a big thank you to all the doctors and nurses at Cumberland Infirmary for their hard work and dedication to ensuring we receive the best possible care.

“Me and my boy are safe at home thanks to you. We are really grateful.’

Ryan, Lucy and their children were enjoying a weekend at their friends’ house in Cumbrian when Roman was taken to the emergency room, with Lucy documenting the weekend on her Instagram account.

Last month Lucy rushed Roman to hospital and revealed he was battling a virus – almost a year to the day he was discovered “blue in his bed”.

The reality star previously opened up about how her little boy spent a week in intensive care and on a ventilator last September, describing it as “every parent’s worst nightmare.”

The TV favorite announced Roman is back in hospital but reassured fans the two-year-old is on the mend and just needs “a little help” to stave off the illness.

The mother-of-two once again took Roman for urgent medical treatment after contracting an infection in kindergarten.

In her Instagram story, the influencer shared a snapshot of the toddler in a hospital ward with the cubicle curtains drawn.

Captioning the snap, she mused, “Should be on a beach. Why did I send Roman to preschool this week?’

She went on to reassure fans that Roman is on the mend, explaining, “He’s fine, he just needs some help fighting virus sometimes. Nebulizers, oxygen, steroids, antibiotics. Bless him, I wish I had kept him out of preschool and brought him to the sunshine sooner.’

Last year, Roman spent nearly a week in intensive care and was diagnosed with “virally induced wheezing.”

Lucy wrote at the time: “As some of you may have noticed, we haven’t been on social media lately. A little over a week ago I found Roman Blue in his crib – probably every parent’s worst nightmare.

“Without going into much detail, Roman ended up being transferred to intensive care at St Mary’s in London and put on a ventilator. Luckily we’re all home now and Roman is his naughty self again.

Lucy said the experience led her to get involved with charities for sick children and the hospital where Roman was taken.

Lucy is also mum to daughter Lilah, who suffered a health scare of her own last month when she was rushed to hospital and put on oxygen after becoming “really bad” from bronchiolitis.

Lilah contracted bronchiolitis from Roman, who picked up the illness in preschool, and suffered from “coughing and choking” before being rushed to the hospital.

Zenith | Véronique Cloutier appoints their captains

Véronique Cloutier will be surrounded by Normand Brathwaite, Félix-Antoine Tremblay, Claudia Bouvette and Élyse Marquis this winter at Zénith, ICI Télé’s new music competition.

Marc Andre Lemieux

Marc-Andre Lemieux The press

These four artists will act as captains. The news was announced Monday morning during a virtual press conference organized by Radio-Canada.

Described as a “large-scale variety show,” Zénith will air in January. Each week, four professional singers from four different generations compete in front of 100 spectators judging their performances. These spectators will also be divided by generations into the audience that will look like an arena. We find the Z (born since 1994) on one side, the Y (1981-1993) on the other, the X (1968-1980) and finally the Boomers (before 1968).

The captains lead these groups, which consist of 25 men and women. You will be their spokesman. Claudia Bouvette is assigned Z, Félix-Antoine Tremblay Y, Élyse Marquis X and Normand Brathwaite Boomer. After each performance, they take their pulse, give their feedback, and share their notes regarding the song choices, the musical arrangements, the concept of the number, etc. These elements need to be well thought out by the guest artist because the goal is to delight all ages and get the best result.

“We wanted captains who could express themselves well and quickly,” explained Véronique Cloutier in Zoom. We wanted people who know the music, who know the varieties. »

The hostess, who says she is “crazy” about the adventure, was not short of superlatives to qualify her captains. With a career spanning five decades, Normand Brathwaite “resonates” with each generation, she explained. With experience in musicals (Demain matin, Montréal m’attend) as well as live variety shows (La fureur), Élyse Marquis is “able to identify a good number and express an opinion with delicacy but accuracy”. Félix-Antoine Tremblay, with whom Véronique Cloutier rubs shoulders on Les Fantastiques on Rouge FM, is a music fan who likes to “drive” from time to time, and Claudia Bouvette, as a singer-songwriter-performer, knows how to “recognize.” what works and what works less well”. She’s also “right and fair,” as she demonstrated to Big Brother celebrities on Noovo earlier this year.

“Zénith is not a war between generations. On the contrary, it’s a way of singing together, having fun,” said Claudia Bouvette, who promises to impress with her looks. His colleagues witnessed it during a photo shoot last week to promote the show. According to Véronique Cloutier, the 27-year-old singer arrived with “a hairy bra”.

“Good Timing”

Original concept signed by Daniel Vigneault and Dominic Anctil, Zénith excelled at MIPCOM in Cannes earlier this month. In the largest international market for television content in the world, the Quebec format would have attracted a great deal of interest from foreign buyers even before it was broadcast.

“After the pandemic, it’s a good time to develop a show where you sing what’s good,” said Dominic Anctil, content producer and head of development at KOTV. It’s a new show, it’s a risk, but the two mechanics we’ve done are eloquent. »

Indeed, Véronique Cloutier has emerged electrified from the tests the team has conducted so far. A real pilot will be filmed in December. “It’s a big, big project,” reiterated the host.

The process of selecting viewers who will become the show’s judges is currently in full swing. Véronique Cloutier wants to find the same 100 people throughout the season, which will include 13 meetings broadcast live on Thursdays at 8pm. It’s certainly a big contract to respect, but the presenter hopes to achieve her goal and attract the desired number of candidates.

“We can adapt,” she said. I don’t want anyone to stop submitting their application because they’re going away for spring break. »

1667239224 Dominique Anglade wants Marie Claude Nichols to return to the Liberal

Dominique Anglade wants Marie-Claude Nichols to return to the Liberal Group

In an interview with Radio-Canada, the head of PLQ claimed that things had gone too far on the matter.

Following last week’s shadow cabinet unveiling, the MNA for Vaudreuil was expelled from the PLQ group due to a conflict over the allocation of files and responsibilities among the 21 Liberal MNAs elected on October 3rd.

Without giving details of the meeting she had with Marie-Claude Nichols on Monday morning, the Liberal leader asked for cooperation.

When we make portfolio decisions, we ask everyone to do their bit, and I think things have gone a bit too far. So the channels are open, Ms Anglade assured.

“I want Marie-Claude to return to the caucus. I think that’s what the caucus members want too […] There are many files that are interesting. We want her to come back. »

— A quote from Dominique Anglade, leader of the Quebec Liberal Party

Returning to the reasons for Ms Nichols’ exclusion, Dominique Anglade explained that she had tried to find out, taking into account her preferences, which file could best be entrusted to the MP from Vaudreuil, but in the end we did not get along, the cook admitted.

It was way too far […] Now we have to find a way for the rest, the politician continued.

“We send a message, an outstretched hand. I’ve been reaching out to Marie-Claude since Friday…”

— A quote from Dominique Anglade, leader of the Quebec Liberal Party

The MNA for Vaudreuil, Marie-Claude Nichols, was expelled from the group on October 27 after turning down offered responsibilities within the party, which plays the role of official opposition in the National Assembly.

According to Radio-Canada, the MP for Vaudreuil was interested in the third vice presidency of the National Assembly. However, front-runner Dominique Anglade would have preferred deputy Frantz Benjamin’s candidacy for this position.

Ahead of the unveiling of the shadow cabinet, on October 12 the Liberal leader made the appointment of parliamentary officials to help her direct the work of the official opposition in the National Assembly. His closest guard consists of Marc Tanguay, Monsef Derraji, Filomena Rotiroti and Enrico Ciccone.

Marie-Claude Nichols, who had not yet announced her decision at the time of writing, has sat under the PLQ banner since 2014.

A shattered party

Nothing is going well for the Quebec Liberal Party since the party’s historic defeat in the last Quebec election.

After a turbulent week marked by the expulsion of Marie-Claude Nichols from the group, the party’s chief organizer Jean-François Helms, who was particularly at the heart of the strategy of the last election campaign, announced his resignation in a letter on Saturday to Dominique Anglade and the new party leader Rafael Primeau-Ferraro.

The PLQ also lost its communications director, Jérémy Ghio, who announced his resignation just days after the elections.

On October 12, La Presse canadienne revealed that a dozen longtime QLP campaigners, including several former MPs, defeated candidates and a federation president, thought Dominique Anglade was no longer the right person to lead the PLQ and accused her of almost has killed the party.

In addition, former Liberal Finance Minister Carlos Leitao, who led the party’s campaign in the last provincial elections and was set to chair the PLQ, chose to abandon ship and not run.

On October 3, the PLQ had its worst election result in its history, electing 21 MPs and receiving only 14% of the vote. The party managed to elect 10 fewer MPs and collect 10 fewer points than in 2018, when the party recorded its worst ever performance.

These results placed them fourth among the top five parties in terms of popular support, behind the Coalition avenir Québec (CAQ), the Parti Québécois (PQ) and Québec solidaire (QS).

During the election campaign, the leader of the Liberals had presented herself as the candidate of the rally capable of uniting Quebecers and regrouping the Liberal forces, contrary to the “split” practiced by CAQ leader François Legault.

Outside the political party, the Liberal leader has also drawn the ire of other opposition parties by refusing to back an agreement between the parties represented in the National Assembly that would allow for the recognition of Québec solidaire and the Parti Québécois as parliamentary groups target.

1667239162 Maduro and Petro will meet for the first time this

Maduro and Petro will meet for the first time this Tuesday in Caracas

Colombian President Gustavo Petro attends a press conference in Bogotá, October 3, 2022.Colombian President Gustavo Petro attends a press conference in Bogotá, October 3, 2022. Mauricio Dueñas Castañeda (EFE)

Nicolás Maduro and Gustavo Petro will meet for the first time this Tuesday in Caracas. The presidents of Venezuela and Colombia will hold the first bilateral meeting since two months ago they resumed ties that had been suspended since 2019, when the then Colombian government recognized Juan Guaidó as the legitimate Venezuelan leader. Petro’s rise to power completely changed the approach to Venezuela, leading to the opening of the border and embassies. The two leaders will share a lunch that will be the ultimate confirmation that everything has changed between the two nations.

There are endless topics for discussion on the table. Maduro, isolated from the international sphere, wanted to approach Petro cautiously, but since asking him to be the guarantor of the peace negotiations with the ELN, his reluctance has evaporated. The leaders will talk about dialogue with the guerrilla, a group with which it is not easy to come to an agreement. Most Colombian presidents have tried in the last 50 years. At first, Petro did not want to include Chavismo in this discussion, an approach that was not at all realistic. The ELN has fluid relations with some leaders of the Venezuelan government and trusts their mediation more than any other government.

This visit also serves to allow Petro to personally ask Maduro to sell him the fertilizer company Monómeros. The two presidents have long talked about a contact that few know, a man who has a good relationship with both of them. Monómeros was a joint-stock company with capital from both countries. President Álvaro Uribe wanted to sell the Colombian stake, which Hugo Chávez took advantage of to take it over entirely. The company fell into the hands of the interim government of Guaidó because its headquarters were in the city of Barranquilla. Opposition politicians have mismanaged it despite Guaidó’s attempts to restore order. As a first gesture of goodwill between the two, Petro returned Monómeros to Maduro. Now he wants Maduro to sell it to him. The Colombian President believes it is imperative to control fertilizers for the benefit of farmers and ensure the country is self-sufficient in food.

Petro’s diplomatic skills will be measured by his ability to mediate between Washington and Caracas. The President has opened his hand to Maduro, convinced that the neighboring country’s lockdown is of no use to anyone. He is in line with this new tendency, which, following the failure of the Guaidó project, believes that the best way to find a way out of Venezuela’s political and economic crisis is through negotiations with the current authorities. Petro, like Joseph Biden, wants Chavismo to return to the negotiating table with the opposition in Mexico to set a date for 2024 general elections under international supervision. In exchange, he has already told Maduro that he would like him to return to the Inter-American human rights system, where Venezuelans unhappy with a judicial solution can find international protection.

Petro attaches the utmost importance to relations with Venezuela. Foreign Minister Álvaro Leyva’s task is not only to focus on negotiations with the ELN, but also on finding the perfect match with Caracas. Maduro has suddenly found a hatch through which he can attempt to revive the ill-fated Venezuelan government. He wants to sell gas to Colombia to finance himself, an aspect that clashes with Petro’s intention to minimize fossil fuel use during his tenure. And he watches in surprise as the White House approaches him to discuss oil amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. However, these concessions will not be free or forever. The international community hopes that the Chavista government will announce its return to the negotiating table in Mexico later this week and not stand still.

Louis H La Fontaine Tunnel The government speaks with both

Montreal masquerading as a nightmare!

Ready to celebrate Halloween. Repair work on the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel will begin tomorrow. Locals, welcome to Montreal!

Let’s sing along, werewolves and witches!

“It’s going to be hell!” A tragedy foretold! The mess everywhere. »

Like the cicada, we took advantage of the warm weather and forgot that the work on the tunnel and its major traffic disruptions would come with autumn.

Plan B to choose from

You would swear everyone woke up at once and realized the magnitude of the situation.

The river shuttle, the subway, park and rides, buses, carpooling…

I’m surprised our officials didn’t think to install zip lines. Crossing the river would be spectacular.

it will be fine

Our Mayor of Montreal, Madame Joie de Vivre, regrets that she did not have enough information about the impact this project will have on her city.

We probably haven’t talked about this long enough…

Let’s be reassured, the city is “extremely proactive,” says City Hall.

Montreal will make every effort to protect its neighborhoods from the evil motorists that will flock from all South Shore intersections.

Vade Retro, Satana! Back Satan!

Take public transport

With pleasure, Madam Mayor, but what do the workers do in the evenings, at night, at the weekend?

We don’t all work 9am to 5pm. However, there are fewer transport options outside of this time slot.

Normally, we are told, there is less traffic… The transport and delivery of goods suggests the opposite…

If we have time until 2025, it’s better to calm nerves and road noise.

In the meantime I’ll get out my candy for Halloween and to hell with the pumpkin! I put my witch hat on an orange cone, it’s very decorative!
