Brazil must support ceasefire in Ukraine

A United Nations General Assembly (UN) must pass a new resolution condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine next February 24, when the conflict between Russia and Ukraine will end a year. The initiative comes from the European Union, which is seeking a “truce” between countries. The resolution should have the support of the Brazilian government.

The resolution emphasizes that “one year after the fullscale invasion of Ukraine, the achievement of a comprehensive, just and lasting peace would make a significant contribution to strengthening international peace and security.”

The United Nations, this Wednesday, November 22, began debating the means of promoting the “ceasefire” and thus the end of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine abstained “because it assumes that the eventual Establishing a mechanism to remedy damage without proper oversight by the United Nations would lead to legal uncertainty”.

President Lula ended the conflict and even defended it suggested starting a “peace club”.imagine was rejected by Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Lula wanted to include India and China in the negotiations.

On February 17, the government’s foreign minister, Mauro Vieira, said Brazil would take a neutral position in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and therefore would not supply ammunition to Ukrainian tanks. “Instead of taking part in a war, we prefer to talk about peace,” he added, according to the German news agency DPA.

During his time on the reality series, he said it didn’t come as a big surprise when he came out to his parents.

As his big TV moment approached, Carson knew he had to tell his parents the truth.

He said: “Literally the weekend before the TV magazine came out with us on the cover and the name of the show, I had to tell them.”

‘I said, ‘The show I do is called Queer Eye for the Straight Guy’. She said, “Let me guess, you’re not the straight guy? Yeah. We kind of knew.” It wasn’t big news at my house.’

Carson also told his campmates about the frequent bullying he suffered at school as a young gay man.

Granby girls father is eligible for parole

Granby girl’s father is eligible for parole

Fourteen months after he pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of illegally detaining his seven-year-old daughter, who died in disturbing circumstances in Granby, the father will appear before Canada’s Parole Board this Friday, TVA Nouvelles has learned.

The 33-year-old, who cannot be identified to protect the identity of the young victim, was sentenced to four years in prison in January 2022.

Having been held for three months after his arrest in 2019, he will have served a third of his sentence by March 8, giving him the right to parole.

The little girl’s grandmother and mother of the accused feels she has been the victim of injustice again.

“It’s laughing at the little girl who died, it’s downright insulting and there’s no justice,” she said. “There’s nothing fair about this file.”

It was not until Tuesday that the woman was informed that the hearing would take place in two days.

“He had told us that if anything changed in the file, they would keep us informed,” she explains in an interview with our journalist Jean-François Desbiens.

He is denied the right to attend and testify because his name is not listed as a victim in the Commission’s register.

The girl’s birth mother would be in the case, confided the shattered and shocked grandmother.

“The mother is just as shocked as we are,” explains the grandmother. “We are all in shock.”

Recall that the little girl, covered from head to toe in duct tape, died of asphyxiation in a horror story that sparked the outrage across Quebec in April 2019.

The child’s stepmother, who was found guilty of second-degree murder, was sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole for 13 years.

At the conclusion of the trial, the Chief of Criminal and Prosecution decided to drop the criminal negligence resulting in death charges against the father in exchange for a guilty plea to compulsory arrest.

This decision had caused an outcry from the accused’s family and the little girl’s loved ones because the mother-in-law’s trial had shown and proved that the idea of duct tape binding the little victim was valid after she fled in the night was, that was the father.

Ten goodbyes, Detective Munch

Ten goodbyes Detective Munch

The lists of the most watched series never cease to amaze. Nielsen’s features the irreducible NCIS and dogged behavior analysts of Criminal Minds above plenty of millionaires and hyper-advertised platform content. There’s a TV that’s talked about and sensibly theorized about, and a TV that’s watched even if it doesn’t generate hashtags or awards.

Despite his prolific television career, Richard Belzer snagged just one nomination: Favorite Scene Stealer from People’s Choice, a category that defined him. The obituaries highlight that it’s television history, the only actor to have played the same character on 10 different shows: scathing conspiracy detective John Munch. He was one of the protagonists of the great Homicide, the series based on lyrics by David Simon, creator of The Wire, in which we also saw his great character; The great Dick Wolf took it to Law and Order: Special Victims Unit and wore it throughout the franchise. A fine conspiracy theorist, Munch has also had roles in The X-Files, Arrested Development, and 30 Rock. Paradoxically, Belzer’s natural space was a comedy, an escape from a childhood marked by abuse and death. Lorne Michaels, who knows talent, hired him to “warm up” the audience of a newborn Saturday Night Live.

I doubt he’s worried about the awards, although his duels with Marlee Matlin and Jerry Lewis deserve them – that’s how Law & Order: SVU hands them out to guest stars. Munch’s retirement left the 16th Precinct Police Station lacking elegance and cunning. Today, Richard Belzer is mourned by many viewers who know that neither the best performances nor the best series are necessarily the most talked about.

Another amazing night for Connor Bedard

Another amazing night for Connor Bedard

Connor Bedard is definitely ready to take on the best hockey players in the world.

The 17-year-old forward, who is believed to be the next pick in the National Hockey League draft, scored every goal for the Regina Pats in Wednesday’s 6-3 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers.

Not only did Bedard demonstrate the speed of his hands for the umpteenth time by threading the needle with a precision shot in the second third, but he also made himself the accomplice of Tanner Howe (twice), Sam Oremba, Zack Stringer and Tye Spencer.

The British-Colombian has scored seven goals and 20 points in his last five games. In 43 games, Bedard scored 52 goals and 111 points.

The skill of the last World Junior Hockey Championships MVP doesn’t make the Pats a dominant team. With a 27-24-2 record, Team Saskatchewan is in the middle of a heated battle for a spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

The Center du Rasoir puts the key in the door

The Center du Rasoir puts the key in the door

The Center du Rasoir definitely put the key in the door on Wednesday, around two months after it was placed under bankruptcy protection.

The website of the Quebec chain, which specializes in small kitchen appliances and has been part of the landscape for more than 60 years, only shows internet users a short message.

“We regret to inform you that the Center du Rasoir is closing its doors. It was (sic) a pleasure to be by your side (sic) all these years,” we can read.

According to web archives on the Internet, the site was still offering a clearance sale until recently.

The president of Local 500 of the United Food and Commercial Workers union, which represented some workers at the chain, confirmed to Radio-Canada that its members heard the news on Wednesday.

“I was told that the syndic came quickly to change the locks and bolt the doors. He’ll be taking stock in the stores,” Tony Filato told the state-owned company.

The chain with 34 branches and around 150 employees was placed under judicial protection last December.

“I will use all my efforts to come up with a proposal that is acceptable to our creditors, landlords and suppliers. This will not change anything in your working conditions. Your job and your salary are not in jeopardy,” Patrice Demers, president of Groupe CDREM, the organization that managed the trademark, then reassured his employees, according to a statement sent by La Presse.
