Ozzy Osbourne thanks fans after ‘life-changing’ surgery

Ozzy Osbourne is grateful after his “life-changing” surgery, which saw pins in his neck and back removed and realigned.

“I’m home from the hospital now and recovering well,” the former Black Sabbath frontman, 73, wrote on Instagram on Wednesday.

“I definitely feel the love and support from all my fans and I send a big thank you to everyone for their thoughts, prayers and well wishes during my recovery,” he added.

Osbourne was discharged from a Los Angeles hospital on Tuesday, a day after he underwent “major surgery” that his wife Sharon Osbourne called “determining the rest of his life.”

In addition to suffering from Parkinson’s disease, Ozzy also suffers from neck injuries sustained in a 2003 quad bike accident. A fall in 2019 exacerbated the condition, after which 15 screws were put in his back.

“I’m just waiting for another surgery on my neck,” the rock star told Classic Rock magazine last month of the unspecified surgery.

“I can’t walk properly these days. I have physical therapy every morning,” he explained at the time. “I’m doing a little better, but not nearly as well as I would like to be able to get back on the road.”

Page Six received exclusive footage of Ozzy being wheeled out of hospital on Tuesday with Sharon, 69, at his side. Despite the intensity of the procedure, the musician managed to get up and get into a black Range Rover under the guidance of a hospital attendant.

A relieved Sharon took to social media to tell her followers that the prince of darkness was out of surgery, “he’s fine and on the road to recovery”.

“Our family would like to express so much gratitude for the overwhelming amount of love and support that led to Ozzy’s surgery,” she tweeted, adding, “Your love means the world to him.”

A source close to the family recently told Page Six that there would be a “lengthy recovery” following the surgery and that a nurse would be brought to their home to take care of the “No More Tears” singer.
