Our Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen said to “stay safe” as she battles freezing temperatures

Amanda Owen has been urged by fans to stay safe as she battles the treacherous weather at her farm in Yorkshire this week.

The shepherdess took to Instagram to update her followers as she tended to her sheep and horses in freezing conditions and stormy snow.

The 48-year-old TV star has been urged to stay warm inside as much as possible after temperatures fell below -8C and the Met Office issued a heavy snow warning across much of England, including the North, Midlands and the central and eastern areas.

In the photos, Amanda struggled resolutely through the difficult conditions to tend her herd and give them hay to eat after the landscape was blanketed in snow.

She wrote, “Hold on to your hats…it’s finally stopped raining….and started snowing.”

The mother-of-9 certainly had her hands full getting her sheep into the pens to tend to their hooves – as snow conditions can exacerbate existing problems.

But fans worried that Amanda could work in such difficult conditions.

One wrote: “Looks nice but not when trying to work. Watch out.’

Another added: “Stay safe Owens,” while a third follower added: “Stay warm and safe.”

Luckily for Amanda, she had help from her son, Reuben. She captioned a sweet selfie: “Just one of the lucky helpers.”

Amanda made her television debut alongside husband Clive, 68, on ITV’s The Dales in 2011 before they landed their own Channel 5 show Our Yorkshire Farm in 2018.

However, in June, after months of rumors about the state of their marriage, Amanda and Clive released a joint statement saying they had “made the difficult decision to separate.”

Amanda met her husband in 1995, when he was already divorced and had two children, after she came to his farm as a 21-year-old shepherdess-in-training.

It didn’t take long for the couple to attach themselves, and their nine children quickly followed.

The public quickly fell in love with the pair and their unlikely love story, dubbing them the “Kardashians of the Countryside” with their hit show Our Yorkshire Farm.

The shepherdess began making solo appearances on a variety of television shows, becoming a regular guest on shows such as Lorraine and This Morning to provide commentary on parenting and life on the farm.

In November last year, neighbors told Web that she and Clive had been living apart for months after she was “in the spotlight” on her Channel 5 programme.

Amanda moved into her rental property down the road from Ravenseat Farm in Swaledale, where Clive lived in the farmhouse, villagers said.

It was understood that Clive was “desperate” to repair their relationship and “feared” their marriage would end in divorce.

Last month his new show Beyond The Yorkshire Farm: Reuben and Clive premiered and saw him start a digging business with his son.

Meanwhile, Amanda also has exciting prospects on the horizon, as factual boss Daniel Pearl told The Mirror: “The Owens have become everyone’s favorite farming family and millions have enjoyed watching their unique way of life. It’s fantastic that we can all now follow Reuben and Clive on their next adventure.

“We remain absolutely committed to the entire wonderful Owen family and hope to announce new projects with Amanda very soon.”
