Opening of the International Children’s Film Festival: “It’s the great return of fairy tales for everyone”

The 26th edition of the Montreal International Children’s Film Festival (FIFEM) began on Sunday with the presentation of the preview of the film “Coco Ferme”, which marks the return of the “Stories for All” series.

More than 55 films from around 15 countries will be presented at the festival during the spring break, in addition to 35 other films on an online platform.

The film “Coco Ferme” is one of four Quebec films presented this year.

Produced by Sébastien Gagné, it notably stars Oscar Desgagnés, Emma Bai Linh Tourné, Joey Bélanger and Benoît Brière.

One of the feature film’s two screenwriters, Dominic James, is delighted to present his film at FIFEM.

“It’s very exciting because it’s a very beautiful festival,” he said. Being able to open the festival with Coco Ferme, which marks the great return of stories for everyone, could not have been better.”

He believes that fans of the Tales for Everyone series, big and small, will find something for themselves.

“The parents are really looking forward to seeing the film,” he continues. Tales for all is our generation, today’s parents. We made the film for them and there are some references to other films with stories for everyone.

“I think the real fun for parents is to let their kids relive what they experienced through storytelling.”

FIFEM takes place from February 25th to March 5th.

The film Coco Ferme hits theaters on February 24th.
