One person died and three others were injured in a shootout in Texas

According to the American broadcaster NBC, the shooting took place last night (15) in the food court of a shopping center in El Paso, Texas.

Two suspects have been arrested, police said to local media.

An offduty police officer who works as a security guard at Cielo Vista Mall arrested one of the men minutes after the shooting. The other suspect was later arrested.

Acting El Paso Police Chief Peter Pacillas told reporters the suspects were people in their 20s and teens.

Dispute. El Paso police also reported that the youths were fighting when one of them pulled out a gun and fired.

“As a result of the shooting, a member of ‘Group A’ was wounded and died at the scene. Two people from ‘Group B’ were injured and are stable,” explained Pacillas.

Cielo Vista Mall is next to a Walmart location where a gunman killed 23 people and injured 22 others in 2019.
