The songbird continued, “I heard ‘Perfect.’ [and] I was like, ‘Oh my god… can you write songs like this?’ I just looked at music and songwriting in a very different way.’

The ceremony will take place on September 24th at Toronto’s Massey Hall.
Rodrigo and Morissette previously interviewed each other for Rolling Stone’s Musicians on Musicians edition, where they bonded over having both written famous breakup records (Rodrigo “Sour” and Morissette “Jagged Little Pill”).
They also both shared that they no longer read the things written about them in the media.
“At some point when I was 22, I stopped reading everything because it wasn’t really relevant to my personal growth and development,” Morissette said, adding, “I had enough people around me who would point out blind spots, eh.” I wanted or not. ‘
