Ohio State signs Louisiana-Monroe offensive lineman Victor Cutler – 247Sports

Active on the transfer portal since the end of the 2022 season, Ohio State is looking to add an offensive lineman to the roster for next year. The Buckeyes have been unsuccessful after offering multiple targets, but have finally found their man.

On Wednesday Louisiana-Monroe offensive lineman Victor Cutler posted on Twitter he had entrusted to the Scarlet and Gray captioned “dream come true” with the praying hands emoji. Cutler has two more years of eligibility to play for Ohio State.

Cutler has the versatility to play multiple positions on offense. He started right tackle and left tackle for the Warhawks at Game Center and played 29 games during his three seasons with Louisiana-Monroe. These are all positions where the Buckeyes are needed after Scarlet and Gray lose right tackle Dawand Jonesleft tackle Paris Johnson Jr. and center Luke Wypler from last year’s team.

Cutler came from West Monroe High School in West Monroe, Louisiana, and was a two-star prospect and the nation’s No. 199 offensive guard in the 2019 draft class, according to the 247Sports Composite. In addition to the Warhawks, Cutler had offers from Arkansas-Pine Bluff , Grambling State and Southern University, but no Power 5 offerings.

After redshirting in the 2019 season, Culter appeared in nine games for Louisiana-Monroe in 2020, including two starts in right tackles late in the year. Cutler finished the season with a total of 222 snaps and recorded six blocks of pancakes.

During the 2021 season, Culter played in eight games and made seven starts for the Warhawks, picking up both tackle positions and center on the offensive line. He ranked sixth among Louisiana-Monroe offensive linemen with 432 snaps and played 50 or more snaps in four games and tied for fourth on the team with 12 knockdowns.

Heading into last season, Cutler was named a preseason All-Sun Belt selection for offensive tackle by Phil Steele. Culter served as the starting left for the Warhawks, playing his best games against the best of competition. Against Power 5 teams Alabama and Texas last year, Cutler gave up just one sack and one press.
