Observations from the Chiefs training camp of August 18th

On Thursday morning, the Kansas City chiefs conducted their 17th (and final) full practice of the 2022 training camp at their practice field at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Wide receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee) and Mecole Hardman (groin), defensive tackle Chris Jones (back), tight end Blake Bell (hip flexor) and tackle Lucas Niang (knee) all missed the last day of training camp. After missing practice Wednesday, running back Jerick McKinnon (hamstring) and long snapper James Winchester (personal) were back on the field.

With training camp behind them, the Chiefs have Friday off. The team’s second preparatory game is scheduled for Saturday. It will face off against the Washington Commanders at Arrowhead Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. (Arrowhead Time). Practice (then at the team’s practice facility at the Truman Sports Complex) will resume on Monday.

Pete Sweeney, editor-in-chief of Arrowhead Pride, was among the other chiefs beating up reporters and television crews, following everything that happens on the final day. Pete’s observations have already been published on Twitter.

Now we share them here:
