Nicole Kidman skipped lunch at the Oscars while recovering from a torn hamstring on the set of the Amazon series The Expats.
All of the Oscar nominees gathered in Los Angeles for the annual Oscars, although one prominent nominee, Nicole Kidman, was not in attendance.
The 54-year-old actress was nominated for Best Actress for her role as Lucille Ball in the Amazon series Being Ricardo.
While the other nominees gather in Los Angeles, Kidman is staying home in Nashville recovering from a torn hamstring while filming his new Amazon series The Expats via Variety.

Kidman was filming The Expats in Los Angeles when a pre-existing injury worsened and she tore her hamstring again.
The actress returned home to Los Angeles by appointment of a doctor, recovering from an injury.
Production on The Expats will continue this week, though filming will eventually pause at some point while producers decide whether they can shoot Kidman before she returns.

Amazon’s “Expats” is based on the novel by Janice Y.K. Lee’s 2016 “Expatriates”, which chronicles the lives of three expatriate women living in Hong Kong.
Kidman is filming with Sarayu Blue, Ji Yong Yoo and Jack Huston, and Kidman is also producing through his company Blossom Films.
The project was first announced in July 2018, which was the first project signed by Kidman and Blossom Films through Amazon.

Lulu Wang (The Farewell) is directing the series created by Alice Bell.
It’s unclear if Kidman’s injury will prevent her from attending the Academy Awards on Sunday, March 27.
Kidman was nominated for Best Actress along with Jessica Chastain (The Eyes of Tammy Faye), Kristen Stewart (Spencer), Penelope Cruz (Parallel Mothers) and Olivia Colman (Missing Daughter).
