Nicaragua Launches Youth Protection Health Campaign

Dubbed “Youth, Divine Treasure,” the crusade will be carried out in coordination with the relevant institutions of the Sandinista government in the 153 communities of this Central American nation, authorities said.

Minsa Secretary General Carlos Sáenz highlighted among the main planned activities visits to study and work centers, sports facilities and mobile brigades; as well as, among other things, the realization of interactive and virtual programs.

The government official stated that this campaign will provide guidance on contraceptive use and family planning.

In addition, they will address issues of prevention and protection from sexually transmitted infections and health care; and promoting activities in neighborhoods and communities to create healthy eating habits.

According to Sáenz, during the campaign the Minsa will also guarantee the application of the vaccination program against Covid-19, tetanus and against influenza for young people with reduced immune capacity.
