Max Pacioretty will miss much of the 2022-23 season, his first with the Carolina Hurricanes, as he undergoes surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon.

The forward, who was acquired by the Vegas Golden Knights along with defenseman Dylan Coghlan in exchange for future considerations in July, will be without activity for six months following the surgery scheduled for Wednesday, the organization, which plays in Raleigh, said.
