Next Shame – Who Stopped Putin’s War Convoy – Ukraine

For days, people have been puzzled over why a Russian military convoy wanted to invade Kiev, but it got nowhere. Now it’s clear: the mud is not to blame.

Satellite images of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s kilometer-long armored military convoy in the Ukraine war have raised fears of the worst. First, the convoy of tanks, guns and troop carriers moved towards Kiev, apparently unstoppable. And suddenly it was all over. At first the vehicles barely moved, then they came to a complete stop. Experts assumed supply problems or stuck in the mud – due to melting snow and rain in spring, many roads become impassable in “mud season”.

Now a new explanation emerges, reminiscent of the fight between David and Goliath. A Ukrainian commander explains in “Guardian” that he founded the aerial reconnaissance unit “Aeroroswidka”, which consists of a handful of former IT hobbyists and technicians, but also military experts and drone pilots. The troop, which has just 30 soldiers, bought some of its weaponry in the form of drones in eBay ads and is now driving the Russian military to despair with night needles and acts of sabotage, according to its commander Jaroslaw Honchar.

This is how the situation stood on March 11:

They attack at night

Thus, troops infiltrated the convoy at night with quadricycles and destroyed “two or three vehicles in front” with bombs. This kept the convoy stuck – if the Russians had finished their cleanup job during the day, they would attack again at night. The Russians responded by splitting the convoy into smaller units, but Ukraine then attacked supply objects and cut off individual supply troops. At the same time, drones would fire on Russian soldiers, drastically reducing troop morale.

As the commander also reveals, his squad is also made up of hobbyists, company managers, and technicians. Not only were the drones and weapons easy to obtain, but they were also able to convert them on their own – the small aircraft should now have grenade launchers and bomb launchers. Thanks to the Starlink satellite system that billionaire Elon Musk is making available to Ukraine, it is said that Russian troop movements can be recorded in real time.
