A prominent New York transgender and HIV activist has been arrested and charged with allegedly recruiting a minor on Grindr and asking him for oral sex.
Lailani Muniz, 39, was taken into custody after corresponding with a man who worked for the nonprofit NY Creeps Spotlight, who posed on the LGBT dating app as a 14-year-old boy named Josh, Fox reports.
Muniz, who identifies as female and is HIV positive, works as the chief operations officer for the New York Transgender Bodybuilding Federation and was honored during Pride Month at the Bronx Borough Hall earlier this year.
NY Creeps Spotlight, which aims to unmask individuals targeting children, published chats Muniz allegedly had with the man in disguise, who only identified himself as FM.
The news shows that Muniz wanted to have sex with the minor, offering weed and ecstasy to make him “feel horny” and asking him for oral sex even after finding out he was a minor.
FM got Muniz to agree to meet him in a video posted to YouTube last Friday, where the pedophile hunter confronted Muniz and called the police to arrest her.
According to the criminal complaint, Muniz told the officers who arrested her, “We had a conversation beforehand. It got sexual, it got racy, then we stopped talking for a while.
“We started talking again and I agreed to meet him. He told me to bring condoms.’

According to chat logs posted by NY Creeps Spotlight, Muniz appeared undeterred in meeting up with the minor after FM posted that he was a 14-year-old boy.
“Yeah, I don’t mind,” Muniz reportedly wrote in response.
The news also reveals that she invited him to join her and others to do drugs in a hot tub.
“It’s fun, we’ll be naked, and it’s a good sized room. We can all get in the hot tub,” Muniz reportedly wrote.
“I never did, I’m devastated,” FM wrote back.
“We’re going to have fun and we’re going to have weed and maybe some e-pills,” Muniz reportedly replied, referring to ecstasy and promising that it would make the minor feel “great and horny”.
Chat log shows that Muniz has agreed to meet up with “Josh” when his mother is away, but the accused pedophile appeared to have some reservations.
“I can’t pretend I’m nervous,” Muniz reportedly wrote. “I watch too much TV [because] I know you’re young, it reminds me of the show To Catch a Predator where they tricked people who were attracted to underage people.”
But that’s exactly what happened when Muniz caught up with FM, who confronted her about her chat log while filming their conversation.
“So what are you doing dating a minor?” asks FM.
When Muniz stumbles to reply, claiming she is not dating a minor, the nonprofit fires back.
“I have the chat logs. You were talking to me the whole time.’
