Netflix Announces Major Premieres for 2023

Netflix this Wednesday (18) published a small preview of the platform’s key releases for 2023. Some of the most popular titles include Rescue 2 starring Chris Hemsworth, The Killer, a new film directed by David Fincher, and Rebel Moon, a scifi directed by Zack snyder

Some highlights from the trailer:

Luther: Nightfall March 10th
The film will pit DCI John Luther (Idris Elba) against a dual threat. Also in production, Andy Serkis will be the criminal mastermind the police must find, while Cynthia Erivo will serve as a rival detective, additionally dealing with the aftermath of his actions in the final season. Luther, which originated in 2010, has always had a long break between seasons, but after season five in 2019, the BBC did not renew the series. Elba has been campaigning for making a film about the character since at least 2018.

Mystery in the Mediterranean March 2 March 31
Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aninston return as a vacationing couple who find themselves in the middle of an Agatha Christie murder. Newcomers are Mark Strong, Mélanie Laurent, Jodie TurnerSmith, Kuhoo Verma and Zurin Villanueva. Actors Adeel Akhtar and John Kani, who starred in the first feature film, will also return in the sequel.

Rescue 2 June 16
The story of the first rescue, released in 2020, is set in Bangladesh, where black market mercenary Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth) struggles to survive during a mission to rescue the kidnapped son of an international crime lord. The Killer serves as Fincher’s reunion with Andrew Kevin Walker, the screenwriter of Seven: The Seven Deadly Crimes. Tilda Swinton and Brazilian Sophie Charlotte complete the cast.

Leave the world behind December 8th
Directed by Sam Esmail (Mr. Robot), the story follows two stranger families who are forced to reunite over a weekend when a mysterious power outage has everything going wrong. Julia Roberts and Ethan Hawke are a couple while Mahershala Ali and Myha’la Herrold are father and daughter.

Rebel Moon December 22nd
Written and directed by Zack Snyder, Rebel Moon was inspired by Star Wars and Akira Kurosawa Sofia Boutella (Kingsman) will star in the film, which will also feature Charlie Hunnam (Pacific Rim), Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy), Doona Bae ( Sense8 ) In the list. The story follows a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that is threatened by the army of the tyrant Balisarius.
