Neil Patrick Harris’ rom-com series Uncoupled is being canceled by Netflix after just one season
Uncoupled, the 2022 Netflix series starring Neil Patrick Harris, was canceled after just one season.
On Friday, Deadline reported that the comedy starring Darren Star and Jeffrey Richman will not be returning for a second episode.
The show’s premise was based on a gay man who became single again in New York City after being abruptly dumped by his 17-year-old partner.

The short-lived show first arrived on the streamer on July 29 last year, and the 30-minute series peaked at number six on Netflix’s weekly top 10 ranking for a week.
Signs that the show would not last on the platform came amid speculation that Uncoupled was being bought into another network, but it never came to fruition.
Released last May was the trailer showing Harris, 48, squashing the idea of love as he smashed a bouquet of red flowers into the trash while reminiscing about his memories with his hedge fund manager husband Colin, played by Tuc Watkins , 56, remembered.

The two were later seen in couples therapy before his other half walked out the door for good.
“Overnight, Michael faces two nightmares: losing what he thought was his soulmate, and suddenly he finds himself a single gay man in his forties in New York City,” the official logline reads.
Other stars of the show included Emerson Brooks as TV weatherman Billy; Tisha Campbell as Michael’s business partner Suzanne; Brooks Ashmanskas as art dealer Stanley; and Marcia Gay Harden as Claire, an Upper East Side socialite.
Uncoupled is Neil’s second series for Netflix, following his role as Count Olaf in A Series of Unfortunate Events, which ran for three seasons and ended in 2019.
Harris is best known for his portrayal of Barney Stinson on the CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother.
He is also known for his breakthrough role as Doogie Howser, MD in the early ’90s, for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe.
