The Los Angeles NCIS team will be giving up their badges this spring after 14 years of crime-fighting (and the hunt for a staggeringly large amount of nuclear material).

TVLine has learned that NCIS: LA will wrap up its run at the end of this 14th season, with the series finale airing Sunday, May 14 at 10/9 p.m.

The first and longest-running NCIS spinoff will thus wrap up after delivering a total of 322 episodes after hitting the 300 milestone with last year’s season finale.

“For 14 seasons, NCIS: Los Angeles has been a staple of our lineup with characters that have been a pleasure to watch,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, in a statement. “It’s no surprise that this show has been a success as a global franchise. From day one the cast, producers and crew were great partners with Network/Studios and their teamwork, talent and spirit were vividly expressed on screen. We are so grateful for the collaboration and remarkable run of these valued members of our CBS family and plan to give them the grand farewell they and their fans deserve.”

For his part, NCIS: LA showrunner R. Scott Gemmill said, “I want to thank both the network and the studios for their partnership and support over the years; Shane Brennan for giving us such a great playground; and my partners John P. Kousakis, Frank Military, Kyle Harimoto, and Andrew Bartels for their tireless efforts and collaboration episode after episode.

“Our crew has grown into a true family and their hard work and dedication has been fundamental to our success year after year,” continued Gemmill. “My deepest gratitude goes to the cast who brought our characters to life with their passionate performances – thank you for your talent, professionalism and continued enthusiasm. And to our loyal viewers who have loved our characters and followed their journeys, thank you. We look forward to delivering an ending to the series that is both satisfying and true to these beloved characters.”

Season-to-date, NCIS: Los Angeles has averaged 6.2 million total viewers and a demo rating of 0.6 (calculating with Live+7 DVR playback), a 15 percent decrease from Season 13 numbers. Of the 13 dramas that CBS has aired this TV season, it ranks 12th in total viewership (beating only CSI: Vegas) and sits in a six-tie for eighth in the demo.

Part of the franchise’s most recent 3-way crossover event, the NCIS: LA Hour drew nearly 10 million viewers (with Live+7 viewing), marking the spinoff’s largest audience since March 17, 2019.
