The Democrat was spotted in a salmon pink pantsuit and heels as she strutted from her car to the upscale department store.

She was flanked by her bodyguards – one of whom held an umbrella over Pelosi to keep her dry from the rain.

Pelosi, D-Calif., is believed to be worth around $114 million – making her one of the wealthiest members of Congress.

She appeared ready to toss her money into Saks as she smiled and waved at the camera with the same hand that held her credit card.

The congressman’s husband, Paul Pelosi, was also photographed following his wife into the luxury Manhattan store. The couple married in 1963 and have five children together.

Paul Pelosi founded the venture capital firm Financial Leasing Services through which he and his wife have made their personal fortune.

Nancy Pelosi, 82, has been praised for her fashion in the past. The Washington Post reported in 2019 that Ian Griffiths – the designer behind upscale Italian brand Max Mara – said he had adopted Pelosi as his muse for his 2019 collection.

He described the collection as “an in-depth analysis of how clothing empowers”.

Last year, however, Pelosi drew criticism from some on the left after she opposed the so-called billionaire tax in President Joe Biden’s $1.75 trillion spending bill, dismissing the levy on the rich as a “publicity stunt.”

She reportedly objected to plans by some of her Democrats to impose a tax on billionaires’ unrealized capital gains to pay for the president’s social spending bill.

The senior California Democrat – who is believed to be the sixth richest member of Congress – is said to have called the wealth tax a “publicity stunt” in a phone call in October, the Washington Post reported last November.

The bill was one of three massive spending bills proposed by Biden in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Pelosi’s shopping spree came on Saturday as Congress worked to approve $40 billion in military aid to Ukraine, significant support for the region.

The measure includes $6 billion for Ukraine for intelligence, equipment and training of its armed forces, and $4 billion for funding to help Ukraine and NATO allies build their armed forces.

The Senate voted 81-11 Monday night on the first of three possible procedural votes to move the bill forward, and may initiate a final vote on Wednesday.

This paves the way for the final Senate passage of funding requested by President Joe Biden’s administration to keep aid flowing and strengthen the government in Kyiv nearly three months after the Russian invasion began.

All 11 votes against the law were Republicans, showing how an isolationist wing of the party aligned with Donald Trump has split from the mainstream.

Pelosi, who had already pushed aid through the House with bipartisan votes, said of Senate Republicans on CNN’s State of the Union: “You couldn’t pass Ukraine’s law if the senators came in empty-handed and with a promise.” Ukraine went . We passed the bill.’

On Saturday, McConnell and his colleagues met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and issued a statement after leaving the country: “Our delegation reiterated to President Zelenskyy that the United States stands firmly behind Ukraine and will continue to support us until… Ukraine wins this war. ‘

McConnell added, “It is absolutely in our national interest to help Ukraine achieve victory in this war and to help Ukraine and other countries deter further aggressive wars before they begin.”

Zelenskyy said in his nightly video address on Saturday that he believed the senators’ trip showed “the strong bond between the Ukrainian and American people.”

We discussed various areas of support for our country, including defense and finance, as well as tightening sanctions against Russia.’

Visiting Ukraine May 1 with a group of House Democrats, Pelosi promised Zelensky that the United States “will be there for you until the fight is over.”

First Lady Jill Biden visited western Ukraine last weekend for a Mother’s Day reunion with Zelensky’s wife Olena Zelenska.
