In a note, Nagarjuna wrote: “Had the privilege of seeing Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha. A breath of fresh air! A film that goes deeper than superficially. A film that stirs you up from within!! To laugh, to cry and to think!! It comes with a simple message, love and innocence conquer all!! It was wonderful to see Naga Chaitanya grow as an actor. Director Advait Chandan, writer Atul Kulkarni and the team, you just lift our spirits!”

Directed by Advait Chandan, Laal Singh Chaddha is the Hindi remake of Hollywood star Tom Hanks’ evergreen film Forrest Gump. The film will see Aamir’s character at different stages of his life, starting from his childhood to old age. Chaitanya is seen as Aamir’s friend in the Indian Army. While Kareena will star as Aamir’s childhood sweetheart, Mona Singh will play his on-screen mother.

Laal Singh Chaddha will mark Aamir’s return to film after a hiatus of over three years. It will be released on August 11th this year. Presented by Viacom18 Studios, the Indian adaptation of the film was made by Atul Kulkarni. Speaking about the film, Chaitanya recently told Hindustan Times that he picked the film because the language barrier was built into the script itself.

“When I got the offer for Laal Singh Chaddha I gave them the same ‘disclaimer’. Aamir sir was totally fine with that because I’m cast as a south Indian boy going north and that’s where our journey begins. They wanted me to be South Indian in the way I speak. I speak Hindi in the film, but if I insert a Telugu word or adopt a Telugu accent, they were perfectly fine with that. In fact, we’ve thrown in a few words here and there to bring in a Telugu flavor,” he said during the interaction.
