Nadiya admitted it was a difficult time for herself and the world at the moment as she realized how the conflict had become a global issue.

Speaking to The Sun, she shared that her grandmother still lives in Ukraine and the house still has no heating or electricity except “once or twice a day for an hour”.

Noting her concern, the dancer continued, “Since 2014 I’ve been checking YouTube, ‘Is our house okay?’ We had a bomb straight into the living room.

“We had to have my grandmother’s house repaired and now the bombing is starting all over again.”

The Russo-Ukrainian war between Russia and Ukraine has been ongoing since February 2014.

Nadiya went on to say that she has family members who were “almost killed” before the conflict but are safe now.

Her mum Larisa returned to Ukraine to visit her grandmother late last year, with the star revealing it took three days to get there.

“These are scary times and of course it’s tough but it really helps that the world now knows, it’s helping so many people,” she concluded.
