At least that is what the parliamentary wing of the CAQ suggested to Mr Lévesque.

“The party asked me if I could be interested,” confirmed the headmaster concerned, noting that the final decisions had not yet been made.

According to our information, he will be appointed second vice-president, succeeding CAQ MP for Saint-Hyacinthe, Chantal Soucy, who would become first vice-president. The presidency would go to Nathalie Roy.

The post of third vice-president would be given to the Liberal Frantz Benjamin (Viau), in line with the wish of PLQ leader Dominique Anglade in the turmoil since the expulsion of Marie-Claude Nichols, who coveted the post.

Sylvain Lévesque was re-elected in Chauveau’s ride by nearly 6,500 votes ahead of Quebec Conservative Party leader Éric Duhaime, who was hoping for a win to move into the Blue Room.
