It was around 11:50 a.m. when the rescue services received a call regarding a marine casualty on the St. Lawrence River off the border of Varennes and Boucherville. For an unknown reason, the driver of the Sea-doo lost control of her machine and crashed into a boat.

“A doctor and a nurse, who were on another boat near the accident, came to help the victim while waiting for the emergency services,” said Alain Lessard, spokesman for the Longueuil Agglomeration Fire Brigade (SIAL).
When firefighters arrived, the woman was taken ashore, where paramedics picked her up.
She was transported to a hospital with serious injuries. However, we would not fear for his life, Mr Lessard said.
In addition to the SIAL and the paramedics, the Coast Guard and the Police of the Longueuil agglomeration took part in the operation.
