Mom takes identical twins to the police station to find out who was who

An Argentinian mother had to take her twin sons to the police to determine who was who. The fear of Lorenzo and Valentin’s parents caused an international uproar when Sofi Rodriguez tweeted on Thursday (2): “Tomorrow I have to go to the police so they can fingerprint my twins and tell me which is which. . I’ve already won the Mother of the Year award.” His tweet went viral with over 15 million views.

The identical babies were born in January of this year. According to the mother, the confusion began when she had to remove the identification bracelets. “We used these different colored bracelets to identify them, but they grew and we had to cut them off. It was a day when they were sick, they vomited, and when we had to put them back on we didn’t know who was who anymore. We’ve already put new bracelets on them, but we don’t know who Valentin is and who Lorenzo is,” Sofi told ABC.

On March 15, the National Register of Persons (Renaper), an agency of Argentina’s Interior Ministry, visited the family’s home in San Francisco, Córdoba, and collected the children’s fingerprints to compare them with biometric data collected at birth. This put an end to the parents’ fears, who now know who Lorenzo and who Valentín are. In fact, despite the confusion, they confirmed that each was what they really thought.
