A cousin of Coretta Scott King, wife of Martin Luther King Jr., said the late civil rights leader was assassinated by the US government.

During an appearance with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson on Monday night — Martin Luther King Jr. Day — Seneca Scott presented the claim while discussing the controversial new memorial to MLK that was recently unveiled in Boston.

Scott said, “I want to acknowledge that today is Martin Luther King Day and nothing should detract from his radical vision, Tucker. And he was assassinated by the US government.’

“He was murdered just as he was escalating from racial bigotry to class and the war in Vietnam,” he said.

Carlson agreed that MLK had been killed when his focus shifted to “populist economics,” adding that he didn’t know who killed him, but said it was “very obvious” that James Earl Ray did not act alone.

He mused aloud as to why there is no significant interest in the facts surrounding King’s assassination, including that two foreign passports were in Ray’s possession after the assassination.

Primarily, Scott had been on the show to talk about the controversial new bronze statue in Boston called “The Embrace,” which Carlson described as “ugly at best, pornographic at worst.”

It cost a whopping $10.5 million to create, some of which was publicly funded.

Seneca Scott agreed with Carlson’s description, calling the statue a “monstrosity and an insult to family”.

Carlson recently concluded that the CIA was “involved” in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Carlson made the claim to his viewers after the release of thousands of previously unseen files related to the JFK assassination, though he noted thousands are still being withheld.

The popular commentator said he spoke to “someone who has access to these still-hidden CIA documents” and asked that person, “Did the CIA have a hand in the assassination of John F. Kennedy, an American President?”

Carlson said his source replied, “The answer is yes. I think they were involved. It’s a very different country than we thought. It’s all wrong.”

A few weeks ago, on Thursday, the National Archives released 13,173 unredacted documents related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, providing historians and conspiracy hunters with a new treasure trove of details.

However, hundreds of other documents remain under lock and key.

“The little information that remains redacted in the CIA records in the collection consists of intelligence sources and methods—some dating back to the 1990s, originally provided to give the JFK Review Board an overall context about the CIA—their Release currently discernible damage would cause intelligence operations,” a CIA spokesman said.
