The 28-year-old American had surgery to remove bone fragments from that elbow back in June. He has since been on the 60-day disabled list while also battling a sprained flexor muscle in his forearm. However, he has to go under the knife again on August 23rd.

Buehler didn’t have a season that lived up to expectations before he went to the infirmary. He was 6-3 with a 4.02 ERA. Stats a far cry from his 16-4 record and his 2.47 average for the 2021 season in which he was invited to the All-Star Game.

In six seasons with the Dodgers, Bühler started 106 games. He has 46-16 and a 3.02 average.

The Dodgers went into Monday’s games with a 79-34 record, their best so far this season in the major leagues.
