MLB: Jays lose despite Bo Bichette’s skill

The Toronto Blue Jays were unable to capitalize on Bo Bichette’s brilliant batting performance in Game 2 of their series against the Orioles in Baltimore on Tuesday and lost the flag 6-5.

The shortstop hit two home runs and went into defeat in four runs. The Jays looked poised to win with a 5-3 lead in the seventh inning, but Ryan Mountcastle with a double and Rougned Odor with a two-run long ball gave them the win.

Yimi Garcia (1-4) saw the loss add to his tally, allowing for Odor’s winning home run.

Picked up as the fifth batter in the rotation, Bichette used his first appearance on the plate in the second inning to send off an offer from Gunner Kyle Bradish.

Bichette repeated that feat in the sixth inning, this time at the expense of Bryan Baker, sending Alejandro Kirk and Matt Chapman to the plate.

Alek Manoah has had better days on the mound, allowing three earned runs with eight hits in five innings. His opponent Nick Vespi (4:0) only needed two retreats to book the win.

The Jays will try to avoid Wednesday’s sweep in Baltimore.
