The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports more fighting in eastern Ukraine.
Russian forces fired four rockets, including two, at civilian targets in the town of Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region, west of the fighting hotspots near the towns of Bakhmut and Avdiivka. In addition, Russian armed forces carried out 13 air strikes and launched 23 attacks with multiple rocket launchers. Portal could not independently verify this.
EU condemns forced relocation of children
According to a media report, the European Union strongly condemned the ongoing forced resettlement of children from Ukraine by Russian troops and called for their speedy release. “Reports of the forced relocation of children to Russia are deeply disturbing. The EU condemns these acts in the strongest possible terms,” EU chief diplomat Josep Borrell told Welt, according to a preliminary report.
The relocation of children violated international law. “The rights and dignity of all children must be respected and upheld at all times,” Borrell told the paper. In the last sanctions package, in December 2022, the EU imposed punitive measures on those responsible for deportations.
