Metal objects were found in candy and a child was found drunk in the Gatineau area of ​​Outaouais after Halloween night on Monday.

The presence of metal objects in treats was reported to the Service de Police de la Ville de Gatineau (SPVG) around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, we learned via press release.

Poisoning, possibly from eating Halloween candy, was also reported to the SPVG police. The investigations are ongoing.

– It is important to carefully check all the treats collected by the children.

– Upon inspection, all treats with one or more of the following characteristics must be discarded:

– A punctured or damaged packaging;

– The lack of sealed commercial packaging (e.g. in a Ziploc bag);

– An unusual statement such as “THC, medicinal, cannabis-infused, etc.” or the presence of cannabis leaf logos.

As an extra precaution, it’s best to check the insides of treats like candy bars and chews before allowing children to eat them.
