Selena Gomez has announced the arrival of the amazing Meryl Streep in distribution for Season 3 ofOnly murders in the building. The 30-year-old singer and actress – who plays Mabel Mora in the series – posted a photo and video on her Instagram account on Tuesday that quickly went viral.
Viewers have been looking forward to the third season of Disney+’s Only Murders in the Building series even more since they found out the 73-year-old star will be a part of it!
The black and white photo posted by Selena Gomez featuring Selena Gomez, Martin Short, Steve Martin, Paul Rudd (another nice addition to the series) and Meryl Streep has garnered many surprising likes and comments and joy from admirers and various personalities like Michelle Pfeiffer and LiliCollins.
It’s unclear if Meryl Streep — winner of three Emmys, three Oscars, and three Golden Globes — will be a regular or more guest-star on the show, like singer Sting and comedian Amy Schumer did in the first two seasons of the award-winning series.
The comedy-drama series is about Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin, co-creator of the series with John Hoffman), Oliver Putnam (Martin Short) and Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez), three neighbors of an apartment building on the Upper West Side named Arconia . The three bond through their fascination with true crime podcasts, eventually creating their own “podcast” as mysterious murders unfold around them.
Clumsy, funny and very different, the members of the trio have a gift for finding themselves in impossible situations; which at least has the positive aspect of feeding her podcast. Comedian Tina Fey is also on the show.
Season 3 begins with Charles, Oliver and Mabel finding out who killed Ben Glenroy, played by Paul Rudd. In the season 2 finale, Glenroy died onstage while appearing in a Broadway play opposite Charles, directed by Oliver.
We still don’t know the release date of this highly anticipated third season of Only Murders in the Building on the Disney + platform.
