Meryl Streep Cast in Only Murders in the Building Season 3

Meryl Streep has joined Season 3 of Only Murders in the Building on Hulu.

The announcement was made by series star Selena Gomez in a video posted to Instagram, which can be seen below. It’s not yet known if Streep will appear in a guest, recurring, or series original role.

The comedy-drama series is about Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin), Oliver Putnam (Martin Short) and Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez), neighbors in an Upper West Side building called Arconia, who discuss their love for True -Crime podcasts and end up starting their own as mysterious murders unfold around them. In Season 1, they uncovered the murder of their roommate, Tim Kono (Julian Cihi), and in Season 2, they did the same for the building’s CEO, Bunny Folger (Jayne Houdyshell)—while trying to clear their own names. Tina Fey also plays the leading role.

Winner of three Emmys, three Oscars and three Golden Globes, Streep is best known for her work in such films as Sophie’s Choice, Out of Africa, Julie & Julia, The Devil Wears Prada. Mamma Mia!” and more. Her starring roles on television include the 1978 miniseries “Holocaust,” 2003’s “Angels in America,” and the second season of HBO’s “Big Little Lies.”

Season 3 begins with Charles, Oliver and Mabel working to find out who killed Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd). In the season 2 finale, Glenroy died onstage while appearing in a Broadway play opposite Charles, directed by Oliver.

Martin co-developed Only Murders in the Building with John Hoffman. Martin, Hoffman, Short and Gomez are executive producers alongside Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal. 20. Television is the studio.
