Melting Ice Movie Crew Rescues Three Deer Midway through Filming – Radio-Canada.ca

The craftsmen behind the movie Melting Ice suddenly swapped cinema for a rescue Thursday while filming an ice canoe scene near Montreal’s Îles-de-Boucherville.

After seeing three deer in distress in the frigid waters of the Saint Lawrence River, director François Péloquin and stunt doubles Julien Harvey, Gilbert Dufour, Corinne Brunelle and Matéo Carrabin set out to rescue the animals aboard a boat rescue.

In a short sequence filmed by a drone, the team repeatedly tries to heave the animals out of the water. After a few minutes of effort, she manages to transport the exhausted deer to the shore.

The scene also previews the film Melting Ice, starring Christine Beaulieu, Lothaire Bluteau and Marc Béland, which is slated for release in 2024.

In the feature film, Christine Beaulieu plays a parole officer who tries to rehabilitate people who have committed murders. To do this, she takes them on a range of exciting activities, including a ride on an ice canoe.
