But now the Duke and Duchess of Sussex must undergo their most revealing interrogation yet as part of a lawsuit filed by Meghan’s sister.
A judge refused to grant Meghan Markle’s motion to stop testimony, meaning she and Harry are being grilled by Samantha Markle’s attorneys.
Within the next few months, they will have to discuss, among other things, whether the late Queen Elizabeth was racist.

But in a win for the Duchess, a judge warned the case could be “ripe for dismissal” before testimony takes place.
Judge Charlene Edwards Honeywell said that after a “preliminary look” at Meghan’s motion to have the case dismissed, there could be grounds for dropping it.

Samantha is seeking $75,000 in damages over claims in the Sussexes’ 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey and her 2020 biopic Finding Freedom.
According to Samantha, the allegations “humiliated, shamed and hated her on a global scale.”
Meghan’s attorneys have declined to answer 38 questions from Samantha’s attorneys filed in the lawsuit in Florida federal court because they want Judge Honeywell to rule on her motion to dismiss first.
They also asked the judge to stop the investigative process, but she refused to do so.
In her ruling, Judge Honeywell wrote: “Defendant Markle fails to show that unusual circumstances justify the stay sought or that disadvantage or an undue burden will result if the court does not issue a stay.
“Although a preliminary look at the motion to dismiss suggests that some of the claims against her could be dismissed, the review at this time does not provide a clear indication that the court will dismiss the claim altogether.
“As a result, Defendant Markle does not meet the high standard required to stay discovery pending a ruling on a plea motion.”
The verdict means Meghan and Harry must come to testimony, which must take place before July if the case moves forward.

Samantha claimed the Duchess deployed “improper walls to resist Ms Markle’s discovery efforts in this case” in hopes of the case being dismissed.
She claimed Meghan provided “zero documents” after making 38 email and text requests, with the Duchess denying “every single request”.

They declined to answer other questions for the same reasons, calling some “vague”.
Her attorney refused to respond to even basic biographical requests for a response from Samantha.
That includes the fact that Meghan isn’t an only child, as she claimed in the Oprah interview — she actually has a half-brother, Thomas Jr., as well as Samantha, her half-sister.
A request from Samantha said, “Please indicate if you have ever spoken out in defense of the plaintiff after seeing the public scrutiny/hate she has received from her fans.”
Another claim Samantha questions is that Meghan once said she used to get into her old Ford Explorer through the trunk because it was so broken.
In the court filing, Samantha is looking for “any document proving you had a Ford Explorer with doors that didn’t work.”
