Mayor asks pop icon Madonna for lost photo

According to the text, Madonna bought a painting with “Diana and Endymion” for 1.2 million euros at an auction in New York in 1989, but without a date and signature. The Guardian also reported that Madonna’s photo is three centimeters smaller than the one that disappeared in Amiens more than 100 years ago.

Whether it is an authentic painting by Jérôme-Martin Langlois (1779-1838) or a copy, he wants Amiens to see it again, said the mayor to the TF1 television channel – in 2028, when Amiens runs for the title European Capital of Culture. In his video, Fouré also specified that the legal acquisition of the painting was not contested.

If Madonna complied with the request, she would have to accept that her painting was subjected to a series of analyses.
