SANTO DOMINGO.- Which party do you sympathize with?is the first question in the fifth installment of the Mark Penn/Stagwell poll analyzed by Bernardo Vega in El Despertador.
Vega stressed that 32 percent not sympathetic to any partythat also 32% for the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), 14 for the People’s Force (FP) and 12% for the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD).
“The fact that whoever is most sympathetic has 32 percent is another indication of the discrediting of the country’s political parties and key politicians, because it has to be at least 50 percent.”Vega meant.
He said that older people tend to be more likely to sympathize with a political party, that those under 34 are considered independent, “That means the youth in the country don’t want to know much about the political parties.”
Another poll question is If there were an election today, which presidential candidate from which party would you vote for?
46 percent think they would vote for the PRM, while 25 percent would vote for the People’s Force, 16 percent for the PLD and 11 percent undecided.
He argued that people over 35 and especially over 65 are sympathetic to the PRM, while young people are sympathetic to the PLD.

How satisfied or dissatisfied are you with the work of President Luis Abinader?
53% state that they are satisfied, 41% are dissatisfied and 5% are not.
Vega emphasized that the 53 percent who are satisfied with President Abinader’s work are mostly men and the elderly.
Another question is how satisfied or dissatisfied you are with President Luis Abinader’s work on four issues: Government corruption, controlling Haitian migration, managing inflation, and fighting crime and insecurity.
The poll found that 44 percent are satisfied with the president’s work on fighting corruption, 41 percent with controlling Haitian migration, 32 percent with managing inflation, 29 percent with tackling crime/insecurity and 27 percent with the Unemployment.
The last question of the fifth part isDo you think there is more corruption in the current government than before, the same as before or less?
44 percent think there is less corruption, 28 say there is more, 25 percent think it is the same and 2 percent say there is none.
