During his visit to Étienne Boulay’s podcast entitled Cooler at BoulayMaripier Morin made several moving revelations.

During the hour-long interview, available on the latest episode of the podcast, the new mom and former soccer player covered several important issues, including drug issues, addiction, but also suicide.
Maripier Morin, who had been sober for more than two years and explained at length his arduous journey to sobriety, thought it important to mention that he didn’t want to be pitied.
She even said that the events of 2020 as we know them have brought her a lot of good.
“It has brought so many positive things into my life […] I had suffered for years. And someone who isn’t doing well rarely does well around them,” she confessed.

Finally, Étienne Boulay and his guest brought up the subject of suicide, and that’s when the actress who shines in the film emerged Arletes familiar with painful vulnerability:
“When I was pregnant we moved and there was a lot to do. Buy furniture, paint, floors, all that. As long as I was active and had plans, it was fine. But at the end of my pregnancy, in the eighth month, I fell because there were no more plans and doing nothing is not good for my mental health. And I thought it would be better if my daughter didn’t have me as a mother. So I thought about the idea…” she revealed, her throat choking with emotion.
“I think that touches me so much. It is said to have had this idea and today I hold it in my arms [sa fille] and my god, what a mistake that would have been! But if you’re in the same pain…”

After experiencing similar agony, Étienne Boulay responded to Maripier’s reaction by admitting he had been there too. He said he had dark thoughts after promising his daughter he would be a better father. However, he relapsed two days after making that promise. It was during this time that he considered suicide.
