Police are investigating reports that a man shot himself dead at a home in Nashville, Tennessee, believed to be the home of American Idol star Kellie Pickler.

Officers responded to a call of “apparent suicide” at 1:21 p.m. local time on Friday, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department told .

Spokesman Don Aaron said the incident involved a single shot and the victim was an adult male, but declined to reveal his identity.

Aaron said everyone else in the house was safe.

understands Pickler lives in the $2.4million home with husband Kyle Jacobs, 49, a singer-songwriter. The couple have no children.

Residence and other records place the couple there, and property records state the home was last purchased by Pickler’s manager, Julie Boos, in 2010.

Officers from the Police Department’s West Precinct and Nashville Fired Department rushed to the first call and were later followed by a team of detectives and officers from the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Pickler, 36, is a country music star with hits like “Don’t You Know You’re Beautiful” and “Best Days of Your Life,” which he co-wrote with Taylor Swift.

She married Jacobs in 2011.

The couple’s most recent residence documents are from 2018 and are stored in the house.

Jacobs also has an Alaskan hunting and fishing license registered on the property as of May 2021.
