Vyacheslav Matrosov, 35, discovered a crime and was furious with his friend Oleg Sviridov, 32. After gaining access to Sviridov’s cell phone, Matrosov discovered that the man was abusing his daughter, a sixyearold girl, and that he was in addition to filming the violent scenes . Overcome by a feeling of hatred, Matrosov forced him to dig a shallow grave in a forest, where he would be buried a few minutes later.
The case happened in Russia in September 2021 but came to light again this week after Matrosov was released from prison. A wave of support for the abused girl’s father has erupted in the nation ruled by Vladimir Putin.

Matrosov was sentenced to 18 months in prison in April this year for encouraging Sviridov’s suicide, but served just six months of the sentence after 2,500 people signed a petition demanding his full acquittal. Some of these individuals also collected an amount of money that was spent on the suspect’s defense costs.
Matrosov returned home and posted a picture with his two daughters, including the abuse victim. Also in the photo is his wife Natalya, 35. “House. I love you so much,” he wrote.
