A magnitude 7.0 earthquake shook the eastern part of Indonesia today, reports the US Geophysical Institute USGS.
The earthquake was recorded in the sea 150 km northwest of Tobelo, near the Moluccas, at a depth of 48 km. According to the US Tsunami Warning System, there is a risk of a tsunami, but no warning has been issued yet.
According to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, “Tsunami waves are possible that could affect coasts within 300 kilometers of the earthquake’s epicenter.”
