Cheryl Maitland is dealing with heartbreak on Valentine’s Day after she arrested her fiancé by texting one of her friends flirtatious.

In an Instagram Story video posted Monday, the former Married At First Sight shared a video of herself strolling along a beach while listening to the track Brightest Stars by Jeffrey East.

“Again and again,” she wrote alongside the clip, followed by a heartbroken emoji.

In the clip of the song she performed, East sings, “Someone turned your lights off / made you feel like they didn’t want you / left you in the shadow of a broken truth.”

Maitland leaked a series of texts on Sunday that allegedly showed her fiancé Dean Gibbs, a disgraced former Victoria police officer-turned-plumber who was planning to meet up with blonde hairstylist Maria Pepi on the beach for coffee and a swim meet.

She posted the DMs on Instagram, then called Gibbs and Pepi “dogs” and said she “hopes the sharks get these two” the next time they go to the beach together.

Maitland’s angry reaction suggests Gibbs may not have told her he was seeing one of her pals. Chron Australia does not suggest infidelity.

He also appears to have tried to hide the texts on his phone by saving Pepi under a man’s name “Andrew Galata – Burleigh”.

However, Maitland was allegedly able to prove that he was texting her friend by matching Pepi’s number on Gibbs’ phone with Pepi’s number in her own contacts.

The leaked texts, which had a flirtatious tone, focused on Pepi and Gibbs planning meetings just last month, including once when they went for a “crazy” sunrise swim and coffee together.

“The forecast is cloudy for Monday and Tuesday. How about we do Wednesday?’ Gibbs wrote to Pepi in texts said to have been exchanged last month.

“Yes, Wednesday is good. When and where,’ replied Pepi.

“Want to go crazy and swim at sunrise???” Gibbs then wrote. “Or do you want to curl up with a warm coffee?”

Pepi replied: “Let’s do both. Coffee on the beach, then swim.’

“Boom,” Dean said with a fist-pumping emoji. He then wrote “Love it” with a devil emoji.

Maitland then shared another text message exchange in which Gibbs joked about having to “rescue” Pepi from an ocean rift.

“Broad beach near you? Maybe in front of the Kurrawa Surf Club?” Gibbs suggested.

‘Yes!!! Blocked and loaded, entered in my calendar,’ Pepi answered.

“That means it’s official. Hope you get in a crack so I can save you,” Gibbs joked to the glamorous blonde.

“Hahaha omg I would be so scared shark bait,” Pepi wrote, adding a bunch of laughing emojis. “You better save me lol,” she added.

According to earlier reports, the former police officer started dealing drugs after his salary failed to cover the costs of his cocaine addiction.

Gibbs faced more than 15 years in prison but pleaded guilty to counts of human trafficking and possession and failure to adequately store ammunition.

Disgraced, he resigned from the police force and took a job as an apprentice plumber.
