A new twist on the McCann case? For almost a week, a 21-year-old German woman has claimed to be the little girl who disappeared on May 3, 2007 in Praia da Luz (Portugal). On a regularly updated Instagram account called “iammadelemccan” (“I’m Madeleine McCan”), the young woman posted numerous photo montages intended to testify to her resemblance to Madeleine McCann. Notably, this one would have the same birthmarks on his face and thigh, as well as a spot on his right eye. Madeleine McCann, on the other hand, was born on May 12, 2003 – 19 years ago, not 21.

The young woman, who does not share her official identity, also claims to have no memory of her childhood. She said during a live Instagram that she had an “intuition” after her grandmother told her she had been “hurt by a younger pedophile”. This man, whose photo she posted on her account, would even be a suspect linked to the case of Maddie’s disappearance and listed on the “official” website findmadeleine.com.

Madeleine’s parents agreed to a DNA test

The disappearance of Madeleine McCann is news that has had a lot of media attention in Europe. The daughter of two British doctors, the little girl was celebrating her four-year birthday when she disappeared while on a tourist trip to the Algarve.

Many suspects have already been questioned in connection with this case. In April 2022, a German was charged with “kidnapping” by the Portuguese judiciary. According to the biography of this young woman’s Instagram account, Madeleine McCann’s parents agreed to perform a DNA test to try to confirm or not what he said.
