Love Island UK: Aaron Waters ’embarrassed me about weight, acne’, claims ex Courtney Stubbs

The ex of one of Australia’s Love Island UK ‘bombshells’ has accused him of disrespecting her during their time together on the Australian version of the show.

Courtney Stubbs hooked up with Aaron Waters on Love Island Australia season 3 in 2021, an experience she found troubling because of his alleged behavior.

She made a series of scathing claims about Aaron on Instagram after he debuted alongside Jessie Wynter as a later entry in the Winter Love Island series, which is currently being filmed in South Africa and airing simultaneously in the UK.

“I’ve never brought that up before… because every time I think about it, I want to cry my eyes out,” she began.

‘[Aaron] loved Iceland UK and the first thing he wanted to do when he got promoted was pull me. Well, this isn’t the first time he’s dragged me along, so to be honest I’m a bit used to it. But after a year I thought, “Surely he would just stop badmouthing me?”

Courtney went on to say that Aaron’s behavior towards her was “terrible.”

“He bullied me, put me down, he shamed me, he shamed me. He kept telling me to fuck off [and] silenced the whole show and made it his personal vendetta against me to make sure every single guy feels the way he felt about me,” she added.

Courtney said she never said anything to Aaron or called him about his alleged behavior because at the time she didn’t know how to react.

She also claimed Aaron subtly downplayed her looks and said he prefers “clean girls” and “girls who take care of their skin” — despite Courtney taking medication for her severe acne.

“I literally had cystic acne on my face, and I was obviously already feeling so insecure just going on TV with my skin like that,” she said. “So, to have someone point that out to you, I’m like, ‘Oh, great. The boys will notice that throughout the show.

Courtney also claimed Aaron would criticize her weight and say he likes it [it] when girls take care of their bodies and go to the gym”. At the time, she was struggling to lose weight.

She broke down in tears, adding: “So I went on the show, not feeling confident in my skin, not feeling confident in my body, and then the first morning at the villa he literally embarrassed me about my skin and my body.’

She then called out Love Island UK to give him a platform for the second time.

“I don’t know how men get away with bullying girls, belittling girls, telling girls they’re fat and their skin is bad,” she said.

“All I did was get bullied by him. And then I have to deal with that… And it would just be nice if people actually knew what he’s like.

Chron Australia has reached out to Love Island UK for comment.

Courtney isn’t the only one unhappy with Aaron’s performance on Love Island, as many Britons have cast disgruntled non-British islanders.

In the comments section of Love Island’s official Instagram account, fans say the Australian invaders are “not necessary at all”.

Others have pointed to the logistical problems of Brits and Australians finding love living on opposite sides of the world.

“What’s the point of bringing Australians? How will it work if you live on the other side of the world from London?’ said a viewer.

“I do not understand that. Are you going to move your whole life to the UK?’ another questioned.

“I’m from Australia, but why? I love Love Island because it’s British and that ruins it. Aaron isn’t a bomb either… I think he’s too self-absorbed,” wrote one Australian.

Aussie bombshells Aaron and Jessie Wynter are new to the South African mansion but are no strangers to the franchise.

Jessie appeared in the second season of Love Island Australia where she teamed up with four different boys.

She sparked controversy when she split from Gerard to pursue a romance with Todd.
