‘I cry 10 times a day’: Louise Redknapp considered moving to America to be near son Charley, 18, while he attends university in Arizona
Louise Redknapp has admitted she was considering moving to the States to be near son Charley while he attends university in Arizona.
The Eternal singer, 47, said that while she’s proud of her eldest child, 18, she struggles with the thought of being apart and “crying 10 times a day”.
Louise revealed: “I keep crying. I cry about 10 times a day right now, as if someone is being nice to me, I start crying like, “Sorry, it’s just my son who goes to college.”

She continued in a conversation with Metro: “Anyone who has children goes to university and says it’s normal. I’m super proud of him but gosh I’m going to miss him.’
Louise added that while she wanted to move to the States with Charley, she didn’t want to disrupt the life of her younger son Beau, who she shares with ex-husband Jamie Redknapp.
She explained: “It’s something I would do, but I have Beau. Beau’s life is still very here and beau is only 13 so i would never take off and live in another country if beau’s life is here school football and of course his dad so i would never take him away and i never would him leaving.
“Some days I think it would be nice to get to know another country and start over a little bit, but I’m also not sure what I would do for a living.”

Louise’s comments came after she revealed the impact ex Jamie’s new marriage has had on her sons.
Ex-footballer Jamie married 38-year-old model Frida Andersson in October 2021 and welcomed their first child together, son Raphael, in November.
However, Louise revealed that she put the date on hold to focus on being “the only staple” for Charley and Beau following their 2018 divorce.
In conversation with HELLO! Four years after her divorce, Louise admitted that the breakup and Jamie’s new marriage had a lasting impact on her sons.
“I felt that as a mother and to say it in the most respectful way, my boys life changed dramatically and then it changed again when Jamie obviously got married and had a family,” she explained.

Explaining why she hasn’t been dating lately, Louise pointed out, “Her life has changed and I felt like I had to be her only staple.”
“That’s just something I think a lot of moms would feel.”
Revealing that she “doesn’t scour dating sites,” Louise said, “I’m not averse to dating or meeting anyone.”
“My boys will be absolutely fine if I date or date anyone, they will be my biggest supporters as long as I’m happy. Like they’re saying, “Yes mom, you should.”
Louise and Jamie split in 2017 after 19 years of marriage following Louise’s stint on Strictly Come Dancing.
Frida and Jamie share seven children, with the model also being a mother of four with her ex-husband, American hedge fund manager Jonathan Lourie.
