“The Tigers of the North”, the Norteño group that recently performed at the Zócalo in Mexico City, has been at the pinnacle of success for years. However, his musical career has one of the darkest and most mysterious episodes in the industry: the unexpected death of the youngest of the Hernández brothers in a hotel.
In its early days, Jorge, Raúl and Hernán Hernández founded Los Tigres del Norte, but over time other relatives joined the project. Among them was was Freddy Hernandez, who was the sixth Member of the group from 1991 to 1993 and started as a drummer in the band.
One day without warning “The Tigers” received a notification that they could not reach their brother after a presentation in California, USA, and just before his show in Guatemala. In an interview for “Historias Engarzadas” the musicians recalled the tragedy. “We played in a park and finished work, it was a Sunday afternoon”said Jorge Hernandez.
